When should I start taking lesson?
You should start taking lessons 2 months prior to the wedding day so that that you will have enough time to practice and you can book extra lessons if needed.
We have two left feet each, how many lessons do we need?
Most couples take 5 sessions (5 hours total) for a single dance. 99% of my students had never taken dance lessons before, and they did a fantastic job!
What are you going to teach us? Cool stuff from Dancing with the Stars? I can’t do a split.
You want to be able to dance comfortably, nice and sweet on your special day. Therefore, I will keep the dance simple and basic, with just some easy turns and dips here and there. Yes, dips! :)
Music choice & dance style?
Once you’ve selected your music, I will determine which dance style will fit the music best.
If you can’t decide, let me know few song selections of your preference and I will give you suggestion.
- Waltz and Foxtrot are the most popular dance style. Think Frank Sinatra’s “Fly Me to the Moon”.
- Passionate: Tango!
- Fun and free spirit: let’s swing!
- A mashup: this is a fun one. For example: you begin with a slow dance, and then music changes into a quicker beat. So, you can do Waltz in the beginning and then a swing or something. Just an idea!
Nope. Just wear comfortable shoes, although some ladies like to practice in their wedding heels. Otherwise, you can wait till your last session to wear them.
On another fashion note! Make sure you can dance/or least move around comfortably in your wedding dress. You can send me a picture of your wedding dress so I can have a good idea of how much you can/should move in your dress and I will choreograph your dance accordingly.
If I am 2 weeks away from my wedding, can I still learn to dance?
Absolutely! What I will do is teach you basic steps so that you can dance comfortably on the floor without stepping on each others’ feet. 2 Sessions will be good enough. See “Quick and Easy Package” at Pricing.
